RECENT BOOKS READ AND UPCOMING BOOKS FOR THE CONTEMPORARY WOMEN WRITERS BOOK GROUP

Our book group has read some interesting books this year.  Two recent titles are Robert Goolrick's A Reliable Wife.  The book is a dark mystery that exposes the mail order bride practice that brought many women to the midwest and west, during the beginning of the twentieth century and earlier.
Through many twists and turns in the story, the ending is an interesting surprise to the reader.
A new book by Robert Goolrick has just been released and is titled Heading Out to Wonderful.
It has received many excellent reviews.
The last book we read was The Elegance of the Hedgehog.  Set in Paris, in a wealthy apartment building, Renee, an intelligent and cultured concierge hides her intelligence and wants to appear as a stereotypical concierge.  Paloma, a depressed twelve year old girl living in the apartment also hides her intelligence, especially from her parents.  Renee and Paloma get to know each other and transform each other's lives when a new tenant, Kakuro Ozu moves into the building.
Our group has selected the next four books we will be reading.  The titles and meeting dates are as follows:
